The fight was close but I thought Shevchenko clearly beat Santos according to the rules 48-47. It wasn't even close on the feet.

I was gonna say. Santos had moments on the ground and she looked awesome but Valentina most definitely won. I think in a rematch Shevchenko would make the adjustments and win more decisively.

Santos also called Shevchenkos grappling trash recently so I think Shevchenko will be more angry in a rematch

Miller vs. Benítez
Jim Miller, DEC
Beautiful late career resurgence for Jim Miller. He's not going to win a title à la Michael Bisping, but it's nice to see a 40 years old legend still winning against young decent competition.

Solecki vs. Saint-Denis
Benoit Saint-Denis, TKO, R3
The toughest man alive is back haha, who isn't a Benoît Saint Denis fan at this point ?! I really like how every single UFC apparence has been memorable for the frenchman thus far. And his gutsy loss against Zaleski was already legendary (he won the last round of that fight, crazy toughness) but now that we know Zaleski was not clean, I think it's reasonnable to think Saint Denis could be top 10 material. He has a french granit chin, but he just need to work a bit on his stand up défense if he wants a long career...

Meerschaert vs. Magomedov
Gerald Meerschaert, DEC
Meerschaert has nicely regain some of the respect he lost after the Chimaev débacle. Not only because he is on a nice 4-1 run since that humiliating defeat (with wins over solid names like Floyd's protégé Muradov and Bruno Silva, who gave the champ Pereira his toughest test in the cage thus far), but also because Chimaev proved he was an absolute monster...

Shev vs Santos was close though, and even if you didn't score that for Santos, there's still a huge huge jump up from Molly's skillset to Santos' skillset.

Very true. As far as this fight goes I think I’d edge Santos because Erins head movement isn’t amazing and Santos has power

I’m pretty sure the deciding round on the judges scorecard was the 2nd round, I think Talia controlled her for entirety of the 2nd round, Talia won that round, UFC had to protect they’re golden child

People talk about Paddy, But not about Valentina which is quite sad

Taila did 0 with that control. She was out struck on the ground, defended submission attempts and got taken down as well. She had more control sure but it was clear who won that round and it wasn’t Taila. Also comparing Paddy to Valentina is absolutely insane

Santos vs. Blanchfield
Taila Santos, DEC
I’m a huge Blanchfield fan. I’ve been on the Blanchfield train since she was dominating invicta. However this matchup I think will be incredibly difficult for her to win. The grappling will be about even with Santos having the strength edge. I think that the striking will be the difference maker, Taila has the big power advantage and accuracy advantage. I think Erin has the volume and maybe the technique but I think the strength and power of Santos will win her the fight. I’m extremely excited for it

Ah ffs they wanna ruin one of the two. And I am willing to bet that they think Sandman can clap Chito so he shuts up about titleshot
EDIT : Or they wanna do Dvalishvili vs Yan if Petr doesn't hang up his gloves

Vera vs. Sandhagen
Cory Sandhagen, DEC
I wish they made Sean vs Chito 2 but this is an amazing compromise. Both are elite but I think Sandhagen is gonna be able to piece up Vera on the outside and win 3 rounds. Chito is very hard to beat later on so he’s gotta be careful

Meerschaert vs. Magomedov
Abus Magomedov, TKO, R1
Abus can grapple and his striking is very clean. GM3 has a chance for a sub like he always does but I think he goes down here

I think Sean getting a title shot tbh, Not Cejudo, just because Sean is a fighter casual knows, and only people who are into UFC know Cejudo

I rather that, don’t want Cejudo to just retired again with the belt and we have another vacant belt
